The Nigerian Indigenous Ship-owners Association (NISA) Secretary General, Captain Dada Labinjo, may have officially resigned from his post, so as to contest for the body’s highest seat.
Labinjo confirmed this at the weekend to the Maritime First, thanking the industry stakeholders for the support he received as NISA scribe, in the past.
“My decision to step aside was borne out of my believe in transparency and fair play in all undertakings”, he stated, reassuring his readiness to “offer even more selfless services”; because he has no intention of resting “until our jobs are back!”
“As a contestant in the election, I would not like to remain in the Executive Committee as this offends the role on fair play. I don’t want to be an umpire in the race that I am a participant”, he explained further.
Capt. Labinjo whose campaign website remains www.labinjonisa2014.org resigned on 9th September, 2014.
