Kemi Dauda bags Maritime Reporter of the Year award


Maritime Reporters Association of Nigeria (MARAN) newly elected Treasurer, Oluwakemi Dauda has won the 2014/2015 Maritime Reporter of the Year Award.

The event which was held  in Owerri, Imo State, Nigeria on Saturday, was organized by the Nigeria Media Merit Award (NMMA)

“My Dear MARAN Brothers and Sisters, I am happy to inform you that your newly elected un-opposed  Treasurer,  Oluwakemi Dauda of The Nation Newspaper won the Maritime Reporter of the Year Award, organized by the NMMA”, an elated Dauda said, in a message, to the Maritime First, on Sunday.

Remarkably, Dauda was winning  the Africa’s Foremost Media Excellence award for the second time.

He was the Agriculture Reporter of the Year (NMMA) 2005/2006 and the Overall Best Agriculture Reporter of the Year (Lagos State)  2010.

Speaking on his award, Dauda said he was dedicating it to his employers and his Editor.

“The Award is not for me, it is for The Nation Newspaper, My Editor Mr Gbenga Omotoso who deployed me about three years ago to cover the beat and all of you who supported me since I joined MARAN”, he stated, thanking “Allah, my Creator and my late parents who despite my active participation in Unionism at the Lagos State University (LASU) and its odds, gave me the Best Education money can buy”, he indicated further.
