…As NISA condoles with family

A seasoned master mariner, Capt. Cosmos Niagwan; who assisted the Federal Government, in the  liquidation of the defunct national carrier; the Nigerian National Shipping Line (NNSL) is dead.

A distinguished Senator of the Federal republic of Nigeria between 1999 and 2003, the Master Mariner reportedly passed on Wednesday, throwing the gates wide open, for visitors, many of them, from the maritime industry.

Already, the President, Nigerian Indigenous Shipowners Association (NISA), Capt. Dada Olaniyi Labinjo has expressed deep sadness with his death, in a message signed by the NISA National Publicity Secretary, Engr. Emmanuel Ilori.

“We are saddened to hear the death of Captain Cosmos Niagwan. He was a pillar of the industry with unparalleled commitment for development of the industry”, the body said, noting that the late liquidator was very passionate about development of competent Nigerian seamen.
“He will be greatly missed. We sympathise with his family at this period”, the NISA statement indicated further.

  1. Oh how sad. He is the father in law of my sister. She is the wife of his first child and first son, Cosmos Niagwan jnr. of Liverpool. RIP Captain.
