The resignation of the First Vice President, Nigerian Indigenous Ship-owners Association (NISA) , Chief Mrs. Margaret Orakwusi from the NISA elected executive may, contrary to media reports, have nothing to with her company’s membership as a bona fide NISA member.
The Maritime First gather that the former NIMAREX Chairman, Orakwusi specifically called attention to this, in a recent correspondence to the association, probably, against the backdrop of media “misinformation”; pointing out that while she was resigning her membership as First Vice President as a person, her company, the Morbod Fisheries Ltd however remains, a strong member of NISA
Confirming this when his view was sought on Tuesday, the NISA President, Capt. Dada Olaniyi Labinjo also pleaded with the media, against looking for little things that divide, rather than the big things that cement the association as a strong, united family
“I have read your (media) reports. And I will want to plead that you people should stop looking for the little things that divide us, instead of the major things that are always binding us!” he explained, stressing that the Reconciliation Committee set by NISA was still in good communication with the revered business woman.
