President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Amaju Pinnick has slammed the Super Eagles, describing them as lacking the hunger and zeal to represent Nigeria.
Pinnick, who recently returned from Equatorial Guinea where he functioned as match commissioner, says from his experience at the just concluded Africa Cup of Nations, he has come to the realization that the Super Eagles lack ‘national moral’.
“I saw selflessness, zeal, hunger and national moral in all the teams that participated at the Africa Cup of Nations and these are things I have realized are missing in our Super Eagles,” Pinnick said.
The NFF boss also posited that there was hunger in the Super Eagles team before they won the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations, but says they lost that afterwards.
“There is no hunger in this Super Eagles. There was hunger before they won the Nations Cup, and you could see it, because it was evident in the way Sunday Mba scored the goal that won us the competition. But I am sure he will not make such efforts again,” Pinnick lamented.
