The Lagos State Government has announced the closure of Akanni Doherty Street, Ashade from Friday, 28th to Sunday, 30th, June, 2019 to  preparation for the on-going Nigerian Railway Modernization Project,  to allow the contractors of the project, CCECC and Devine Gate LTD, relocate and interconnect the 700mm diameter public water main in the said vicinity

The State Government in a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Transportation, Dr. Taiwo Olufemi Salaam said the closure would also involve excavation across the said road, as well as laying of  High Density Polyethylene  (HDPE)  pipes, backfilling and compaction.

Dr. Taiwo Olufemi Salaam has therefore advised motorists and the general public to use alternative routes around the area to ensure a hitch free traffic.
