Hoodlums attack, killing LASTMA operative in Ijora, Lagos

Dark shadows and soul devastating sorrows on Saturday morning incapacitated colleagues of a LASTMA Operative, in Apapa, following a death, resulting from serious injuries he sustained Friday evening at Ijora, in Lagos.

It could not be confirmed if Ola was not one of the LASTMA Operatives attach to the Presidential Tasks Team.

Informed sources told the Maritime First that the highly focused and hardworking officer, was attacked Friday evening around 5pm, in the course of sanitising Iganmu-Sifax area.

Call it corruption fighting back or whatever, it was learnt a large stone was thrown at him and knocking him down, immediately.

He was subsequently rushed to Area “B” Police Station, where ACP Bayo Sulaimon ordered for the detention of two of his suspected attackers, with some others still at large.

A letter of medical referral was also said to have been instantly issued for the victim’s urgent medical attention.

 

An eye witness who spoke on condition of anonymity said the first hospital, Randle Hospital, Surulere rejected him on seeing the serious state he was, resulting in his immediately referral to the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), where competent medical officers fought doggedly for his life.

Sadly, this morning, the Maritime First learnt that all the efforts at the  LUTH’s Emergency Section, where he was attended to was futile.
