Detailed investigation has begun in respect of the Pipeline fire which gutted a portion of Diamond Estate, during which one person was burnt beyond recognition and another sustained 70 percent devastation.

The LASEMA Director General, Dr Olufemi Damilola Oke-Osanyitolu confirmed this, wondering how upon his men’s arrival and other relevant emergency responders at the incident scene, they found the pipeline located within Diamond Estate/idowu Egba had ruptured, or vandalized and was spilling petrol in more than one place.

“This resulted in a fire outbreak at four points. A man that sustained 70 percent burns was rescued and taken to General Hospital Alimosho. And a single adult male was burnt to death, his body was bagged and taken to mortuary”, he said, adding that the LASEMA Response Team and other responders have since taken measures meant to minimize the risk of  further explosion.
