CUSTOMS: Western Marine destroys N3.5m poultry in Lagos

The Nigeria Customs Service, Western Marine Command on Monday destroyed 351 cartons of poultry products, with a Duty Paid Value  (DPV) of N3,553,875 million, seized on the high sea.

The Maritime First was told the siezure was made at ‘T’ junction, Moba, Badagry Lagos on the 7th, December, 2019 at about 12.37 hours, following the Command’s Customs Area Controller, call for a 24 hour patrol on the waters.

 

He charged the general public and the Media to assist the command with  useful information that will make their Job easy, while pleading with smugglers to repent and involve themselves in legitimate businesses that will be of value to the Government.

He pledged to keep his officers and men on their toes, in a determination to see that the nation’s waters are Secure.

The CAC urged  Nigerians to Key into the Government’s anti-smuggling policy; stressing the need to go into Agriculture so that there will be Food sufficiency in the country.

The AC I.I.Ohanyere concluded by calling attention to the border closure, saying illicit traders should considered it as a sufficient advantage to productively go into more legitimate businesses in building up the Nigerian Economy, instead of seeking detrimental individual interest at the expense of the nation’s  economy.
