…As Anambra Police recovers unexploded Civil war bomb***
The Zamfara State Police Command on Friday confirmed the kidnapping of the District head of Gayari in Gummi LGA Alhaji Hassan Mohammed and his Son by unidentified hoodlums, even as it debunked report of any attack on either a Police Outstation or killing of a Policeman.
The Zamfara Police Public Relations Officer PPRO Mohammed Shehu, who made the clarification, also said Police was already on the heels of the kidnappers, noting that the yet to be identified hoodlums swooped on 31st January, 2020 at about 0100hours, on Gayari village in Gummi LGA and kidnapped the District head Alhaji Hassan Mohammed and his son to unknown destination.
“Police tactical team attached to Operation Puff Adder in Collaboration with the Military and some repentant bandits are intensifying effort to rescue the kidnapped victims and also arrest the perpetrators of the crime”, the PPRO said, stressing that there was however no attack on any Police Outstation, nor killing of a Policeman.

In the meantime, the Anambra State Police Command has recovered a Nigerian civil war bomb which failed to explode in Amansea.
“At about 10:30am, an unexploded ordinance (UXO) believed to be remnant of Civil war was recovered buried at a construction site in off Ishagu road Amansea”, the Command image maker, Haruna Mohammed highlighted, adding that the Command also took proactive measures.
“Police patrol team led by DPO B’ Division Awka CSP Ogbonnaya Emmanuel visited the scene and cordoned off the Area to prevent catastrophy.
“The Command Explosives ordinance disposal unit (EOD) were invited.They profiled, analysed and photographed the explosive device before evacuating it for detonation”, he said further.
