The Immediate Past National President of the Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA), Prince Olayiwola on Saturday, 22nd February 2020, gave out his beautiful daughter, Kemi in a traditional wedding in Igboho, Orelope LGA, Oyo State.
The devout Muslim and father, Prince Olayiwola Shittu gave out Kemi, to a God- fearing Christian, Emmanuel from the Rivers State.
The traditional wedding, known in Yoruba parlance as “Alaga Iduro”, showcased a woman as the Chairperson of Occasion, the Mistress of Ceremony (MC), Directress of proceedings, comedian, Theatrician, etc all rolled into one.
The ceremony which specifically took cognizance of the presence of the groom’s background in Rivers State, was interwoven with the two religions of Muslim and Christianity; where prayers, praise songs, music, dances were on display.
Families, friends, business associates and well-wishers were overwhelmingly in attendance, in support of the couple’s families.
The mind blowing, ecstatic and exhilarating occasion, built into a crescendo of fun and refused to be terminated, even after the symbolic cutting of the traditional wedding cake.
The entertainment/refreshments which went pari-pasu, as the wedding procedures was in session, continued into the night with both the highly stocked kitchen and bar remaining inexhaustible.
The Chairman of the Board of Trustees of ANLCA – Alhaji Taiwo Mustapha, having been reconfirmed at the BOT meeting of 6th February 2020, led ANLCA members to the grace the ceremony.
Two other BOT members, Prince Taiye Oyeniyi, Secretary of the Board and Dayo Azeez were in attendance. (Apologies however were received from the Vice Chairman – Chief Dennis Okafor and Chief Ernest Elochukwu – a former President and member of BOT).
Chapters Chairmen in attendance were Comrade Goddy Sewa Soleji of KLT Chapter; Alhaji Barrister Bisiriyu Lasisi Fanu of Seme Border Chapter; and the immediate past Back2Back Chairman of Apapa, Deacon Olumide Fakanlu. (Prince Olusegun Oduntan of TinCan, Chief Dom Onyeka of Apapa chapter, Elder Samuel Obe of PTML were unavoidably absent with apologies too. Sir John Ofobike – Zonal Coordinator West, was absent due to medical attention.)
Also present in their large numbers to solidarize with the immediate past ANLCA National President were many industry Chieftains, which included Chief Oye Ariyo, President General of Odua Maritime Logistics; Alhaji Tunji Salami and several other members of the great association.
