The Apapa Customs Command Controller, Mohammed Abba-Kura on Thursday recalled how the command battled assiduously against the rampaging COVID-19 pandemic, to achieve the task of grossing in a stupendous revenue of over N227 billion, noting that the virus actually struck no fewer than 10 of his men.

He was however happy that every one of those affected recovered and came back, to continue the onslaught against importers who specialized in dishonest declarations.

“I cannot conclude this briefing without the mention of some setback occasioned by COVID-19.

 

“Recall in my last briefing I informed you of our plans to build the capacity of our junior officers and other stakeholders on new developments in the service, but that goal could not be achieved due to COVID-19 pandemic.

“However, that mission is still alive and as soon as we overcome COVID-19 the training will commence accordingly”, the Command boss explained further.
