…As Mine explosion kills four travellers in Mali***
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ebonyi has confirmed that three persons died and six others were injured in an accident in the state on Thursday.
Mrs Stella Uchegbu, the FRSC Sector Commander in the state, confirmed this to the newsmen on Friday.
Uchegbu said that the accident occurred on Abaomege-Afikpo Road in Onicha Local Government area of the state.
“Those six persons injured are receiving treatment at Alex Ekwueme Federal Teaching Hospital, Abakaliki.

“One vehicle is involved, a Peace Mass Transit with fleet number 1459, a Toyota Hiace.
“Nine persons were involved, three died and six others sustained injuries,’’ she said.

In the meantime, four civilian passengers of a transport minibus were killed on Tuesday following a mine explosion in Mopti region of central Mali, the Malian News Agency (AMAP) reported on Friday.
The minibus hit a mine set by unidentified people in the middle of Parou bridge. The vehicle was heading to Bandiagara from Bankass.
According to AMAP, other passengers travelling on the same vehicle, including two women, were injured.
The same bridge has been attacked three times by unidentified gunmen, according to the agency, which said that last year the UN peacekeeping force in the country, MINUSMA, rebuilt the bridge which is the main crossing point to the border with Burkina Faso on the Bankass side.
