The Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi has debunked notion of any links with an INEC official,  Mrs Ekwi Adebisa, allegedly caught and arrested with three fake results sheets, and US $100,000 cash,  at Port Harcourt on March 20 , 2016.

A news platform,  had reported March 23, linking the INEC woman with the Minister of Transportation, following the botched election reruns in Rivers State and, positing that Mrs. Ekwi Adebisa allegedly obtained the money to doctor the election results.

“Where did I get the money from?”, the Minister actually asked,  when the Maritime First posed a question several industry stakeholders who wanted to know if the money was indeed from Amaechi’s personal pocket,  or one of the parastatals under the Minister.

Amaechi’s remark came,  just as another industry watchers,  Kayode Adeoti posited that except the INEC woman supplies the source,  the owner of the dollars may remain unknowable, for life.

It would be recalled that an online platform,  the Trent had reported that Mrs. Ekwi Adebisa who was arrested by detectives of the Nigeria Police Force “for colluding with Rotimi Amaechi, Nigeria’s minister for Transport, in the plot to rig the Rivers rerun elections has been released on bail on the orders of the Inspector General of Police”,  adding that “News of Mrs. Adebisa’s arrest went viral on Sunday after The Trent reported that she was contracted by Amaechi, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to help in rigging the Rivers rerun elections of Saturday, March 18, 2016.”
