The new Minister of Transportation, Engr. Muazu Jaji Sambo on Friday inspected the Lagos major ports and rail network Infrastructures, expressing shock at the Tin Can Island Port, on the serious state of dilapidation of the Quay Apron.

The Minister who instantly directed the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) Managing Director, Mohammed Bello-Koko and work’s engineers to forward the “as-built” plan of the jetty, alongside other documents to his office for immediate action.

One of the failed portions, found during the guided tour of the Minister, today, in Lagos.

Sambo who insisted that Infrastructural decay must not be allowed to slip beyond a certain level, therefore urged the heads of key parastatals under the Federal Ministry of Transportation, to Synergize, stressing the need to entrench global best services.

Engr. Sambo was accompanied on the visit by the NPA Boss, Muhammed Bello-Koko; the Director General of Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dr. Bashir Jamoh and some other Executive Directors of agencies.
