The President, National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF), Fwdr. Tochukwu Esizi has reiterated his election pledge to acquire a permanent secretariat for the association before the end of his first tenure.
Speaking while inaugurating the 6th National Standing Committees and Formation of NAGAFF Executive Council (NEC), said that in his first tenure in office the subject matter is to take NAGAFF to the next level.
He said with assurance that NAGAFF will have a landed property for its permanent secretariat before the end of his first tenure.
The President said that NAGAFF is an association that runs an all inclusive government, hinting that his administration has been able to dialogue with the management of the Nigeria Customs Service as a veritable tool to facilitate trade and promote maritime trade.
Esizi disclosed that NAGAFF management is working round the clock to fix a date for chapter elections as a way of promoting
sustainable freight forwarding practice.
According to him, what people see in NAGAFF today is a testament to the hard work of its leaders.
He assured in unequivocal terms that his administration is determined to uphold, protect and consolidate
on the good legacy of all past presidents of the association.
The President added that “Our core vision and mission is to promote sustainable freight forwarding professionalism in Nigeria, thus we have anthologized individual practicing freight forwarders from all the NAGAFF network structures nationwide who will work together with me and my national officers to drive and shape policy formulation of NAGAFF for the next four years of my administration and under my leadership in the continuity of our reinforcement strategies in sustaining freight forwarding professionalism in Nigeria.
“By doing this, we have ultimately formed the six National Executive Council of NAGAFF, in line with the supreme constitution of our great Association as entrenched in Chapter 6, Part C, Section 41 Subsection 2 (NEC); which stressed that the National Executive Council shall be the Supreme Governing Body of the Association whose decision shall be binding on all members of the Association and shall comprise of the National President, all the elected National officers, all National Standing Committee Officers and Chairmen & Secretaries of Chapters,” Esizi added.
In his speech, Board Of Trustee Chairman of NAGAFF, Chief Chidiebere Enelamah, urged the newly inaugurated committee members to ensure respect for the leadership of Esizi, noting that the current leadership of the Association will continue to sustain professionalism in freight forwarding practice in Nigeria.
He also called on the finance committee to further think outside the box on how to generate revenue for the association.
The highpoint of the event was the administration of inauguration oaths of allegiance and office; and the presentation of appointed members of the National Standing Committee that will work closely with the national president of NAGAFF.
