NAGAFF Vows to Stop Kwankwaso from Taking Over NNPP

…Votes N150m take off professional fees for lawyers to begin litigation warfare!

Members of the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) will vehemently resist the taking over of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) by the group noted to be loyal to Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.

It would be recalled that the NNPP was originally founded by the National Association of Government-Approved Freight Forwarders NAGAFF, largely to provide a credible platform for maritime industry stakeholders to make a national impact within the nation’s political space.

It. would also be recalled that the former Governor of Kano, Senator Kwankwaso latched on the NNPP, after his effort to run as the flag bearer of another political party was dimmed by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar who emerged as the PDP presidential candidate.

Presently, a statement issued by the NNPP National Publicity Secretary, Dr. Clement Iwegbuna, lamented that what started as a child’s play is becoming a reality with the body language and actions of Senator Kwankwaso to highjack NNPP from the original owners, the members of  NAGAFF.

In a swift move, the president of NAGAFF, leading the pack of resourceful young freight forwarders said the original are poised to match money for money and contact for contact to retrieve NNPP from the people tagged ungrateful.

The statement revealed that the sum of N150,000,000 has been contributed as a take-off professional fee for the lawyers to take on the serial litigations upcoming.

NAGAFF accused Kwankwaso of court abuse with the institution of a court case involving INEC at Kano State High Court. “And so what does it take someone who held the position of minister of defence and member of the national assembly of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to know that it is out of jurisdiction to do so.

NNPP is a national party and INEC is a federal commission. “Let Nigerians be told that there is a new order in Nigeria judiciary at the moment. If Senator Kwankwaso likes let him, Elder Buba Galadima and all of them who are the former members of the National Working Committee led by Alhaji Abbah Kawu who was alleged not to be able to write a statement at the state police command, Abuja when he reported a case against Mr Phillip Oyana the Zonal Secretary North Central of New Nigeria Peoples Party.

“Our young, vibrant and informed lawyers shall meet him and his cohorts in court. Once again we hold no malice against any person. All members of NNPP and NAGAFF are children of God and always ready to show love to all manner of people who may come our way,” the statement further said.

The statement directed and appealed to all members of NAGAFF and NNPP to keep the peace of the society and be law abiding and respectful to the constitution of Nigeria.

“Regret to note that Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso had avoidably prided himself to have brought NNPP to relevance and recognition. Tell the American marine that trash for the fact that Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso forgot to note that NNPP is as old as People’s Democratic Party of Nigeria spanning over 24 years in existence. He joined less than 2yrs ago.

“We consider Senator Kwankwaso as someone who is avoidably arrogant and proud for no good reasons. This is because NNPP provided him the opportunity to contest the Presidency of Nigeria 2023 with great men like the current president of Nigeria, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar (PDP) and Mr. Peter Obi of the Labour Party

“Let it be on record that if NNPP were not winning elections for the period under review it would have been deregistered like the one he facilitated which was called Alliance National Party. As a matter of fact, the current headquarters of NNPP in Abuja is the same office used by the defunct Alliance National  Party whose chairman was one Moshood.

“We also know that the current executive Gov of Kano Alhaji Abbah Kabir who was shortchanged in the previous elections took advantage of us as children of God to be protected and today those evil men could not stop him from becoming the Gov of Kano State.

“Therefore senator RABIU MUSA Kwankwaso should be taught the principles of humility and gratefulness to people who have been nice to him.

“In all of these, he may wish to distance himself from elder Buba Galadima if he wants to make headway in politics. The former President, Gen. Buhari did realise and distanced himself to combine with Asiwaju B. A. Tinubu, the grand master to become the President of Nigeria.,” advised.

CUSTOMS: Apapa Command Controller, Babatunde Olomu Wins 3 Awards: Excellence, Revenue, Controller of The Year

…Olomu dedicates the awards to his officers and men for their dedicated commitment!

Highly cerebral, intelligent and dedicated, the present Customs Area Controller, Apapa Port Customs Command, Dr Babatunde Olomu has re-engineered and reinvigorated the command into a money-baking machine, making his predecessors look flat-footed, as he fetched over N2 trillion for Government, more than one month to the end of the year, 2024.

Personally trained, motivated and inspired by the Comptroller General of Customs CGC, Adewale Adeniyi, the Apapa CAC, Babatunde Olomu, alongside a few others, like Comptroller Dera Nnadi is on the hot, but the patriotic seat of the few, committed to enabling the CGC, prove his mettle.

Running the Apapa Port Customs Command had always been considered a yeoman’s job until Olomu assumed office. Now, it looks like a hot knife, slicing through cold butter, even as revenue generation, suddenly looks like an experience ‘meruwa’ is fetching water, out of a clement lagoon!

For this reason, the Apapa Port Command of Nigeria Customs Service and its Area Controller were on Friday, November 29, 2024, in Abuja, honoured with three distinguished awards by the Comptroller General, for Revenue Collection and, an Award of Excellence for outstanding feats, at the CGC Award Night.

Consequently, Babatunde Olomu was celebrated by colleagues, friends and stakeholders for standing out, as the Star of the Night.

He also emerged the “Best Controller of the Year”  for his exceptional leadership and improving on the command’s capacity to deliver on its mandates at Nigeria’s premier port of Apapa

Meticulous, thorough and fastidious, the CGC, Adewale Adeniyi MFR ensured the Awards were keenly contested.

Hence, the three awards when they were being presented, drew accolades, and encomiums and were matched by genuine standing ovations.

The Awards organisers ebulliently recognised the Apapa Command for its various groundbreaking achievements in the areas of revenue collection, anti-smuggling and trade facilitation.

“No leader can excel, without supportive lieutenants!”

It recognised that for the first time in the history of the Command, it had actually generated over N2tr as revenue into government coffers as of November 20, 2024.

It also acknowledged that the Apapa Command, under the leadership of Comptroller Babatunde Olomu, truly raised the bar of preventing revenue leakages and achieving maximum collection, even in the face of low trade volume.

The marvel therefore was if Olomu, as a thoroughbred and team player could galvanize his officers to make so much, in the face of low trade volume, what would have been the imaginable mind-blowing revenue profile, if it was during the heavy trade volumes of some of his predecessors?

But then, his predecessors also lacked the kind of unique inspiration and dedicated attention of a CGC, Adewale Adeniyi MFR who leads from the front, provides!

The Awards organisers also frugally noted, Olomu’s hands-on daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly evaluation of the Command’s activities, particularly the fact that the command is now attuned to getting all officers to resume early, process all entries timely, carry out diligent examination and shun compromise in the discharge of their duties!

Humble and unemotional, Babatunde Olomu, shortly after receiving the awards in Abuja, held the plaques and certificates up and dedicated the honours to all officers and men of the command.

The Area Controller described the achievements as a result of teamwork, dedication, focus and cooperation.

“No leader can excel, without supportive lieutenants”, he declared, calling “for continuous support from all stakeholders as we enter the last month of the year 2024”.

While thanking the CGC for the honour bestowed on the command, Comptroller Olomu said as the number one Customs Officer in Nigeria, the CGC Adeniyi had been a source of inspiration and a good example for all officers to emulate.

He further described the award as a motivation for selflessness, a call for increased commitment and a challenge to sustain and improve the tempo of work at the command which will cascade to all bonded terminals attached to it.

The Controller also urged all port users to rededicate themselves to national service by being law-abiding and reporting suspected unlawful acts in the port to the service and other security agencies.

Comptroller Olomu lauded import and export traders who have used Apapa Port within the period of his leadership and implored them to operate in full compliance with the guidelines for their trade. He specifically commented on exporters who pioneered export activities under the Guided Trade Initiative (GTI) of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

Olomu urged more Nigerian businessmen and women to take advantage of the ease of doing business initiative to use Apapa Port. He invited them to tap into the simplified procedures being emplaced by the CGC under an evolving modernisation regime to trade seamlessly.

The CAC admonished officers of the command not to see the awards of The Best Command of the Year, The best Command in Revenue Collection and the Best Customs Area Controller as the end of hard work but as a motivation and challenge to work harder

He reminded them that compliance saves money, saves time, builds integrity for positive profiling and helps in recognition for upgrade to the authorised economic operator (AEO) status

“Notable terrorists that have surrendered include; Yellow Jambros, Alhaji Mallam, Ardo Idi (Alhaji Lawal), Lawal Kwalba, Salkado, Yellow Ibrahim, Gana’e and Babangida among others.
