Western Seaports: NAGAFF Compliance Team Sounds Alarm Over Scanning Machine Operators' Sabotage

…Urges NSA to call terminal operators and their collaborators to order

In a shocking revelation, the 100% Compliance Team of the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) has raised the alarm on the alleged malicious activities of scanning machine operators in the Western Seaports.

The team has petitioned the National Security Adviser (NSA), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, to take swift action against the operators for deliberately subverting the original plan and purpose of introducing scanning machines in cargo clearing processes.

According to the team, the operators are circumventing the system, insisting on using their own trucks instead of the conventional method, causing delays, demurrage, and double payments for agents.

This cumbersome procedure is not only breeding corruption but also poses significant security risks.

The team lamented that the efforts of the Federal Government to secure the nation are being grossly undermined by some agencies, concessionaires, and public officers in positions of authority.

They commended the NSA for the procurement of scanning machines, which was part of the Federal Government’s efforts to secure the country.

The team urged the NSA to call the terminal operators and their collaborators to order, to prevent further loss of government revenue, security implications, and impairment of trade facilitation.
