The Jigawa State Command on Tuesday 9th of November, 2021, commenced the administration of test on 424 personnel entrusted with arms, in line with the directive of the Commandant General of the Corps, Ahmed Abubakar Audi, to conduct psychological assessment and evaluation tests for all arms-bearing personnel of the Corps.
The exercise which was organized by the Forensic and Behavioral Unit of the Command was conducted in batches in order not to forestall other official engagements.
The program has in attendance resource personnel from the NSCDC, National Headquarters, Abuja.
Declaring the two-day program opened, the State Commandant Mustapha Talba spelt out the rationale behind the conduct of the exercise which he said was aimed at assessing the mental alertness, cognitive and emotional functions, as well as psychological readiness or otherwise of arms bearing personnel of the Corps.
It also aimed at ascertaining their ability and capability to bear such arms in order to prevent misuse and equally boost public confidence.
In other words, the assessment is aimed at ensuring that security operatives are not threats to themselves or the general public.
Expatiating further on this, the Command Public Relations Officer, CSC Adamu Shehu stated that the exercise was concluded on Wednesday.
“The exercise which was concluded on Wednesday, 10th day of November 2021, is in line with the Commandant General’s vision of repositioning and transforming the Corps to international standard” CSC Adamu Shehu highlighted.
