The management team of Greenview on Wednesday paid a courtesy visit to the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN), as a show of solidarity to its new President-General, Comrade Francis Bunu Abi
The visit, which was held at the Union’s Secretariat in Olodi Apapa, Lagos, was led by Mr. Yakubu Abdullahi, the General Manager of the company.
Mr. Abdullahi and his team, while congratulating Comrade Bunu on his election victory, affirmed Greenview’s unwavering support for the MWUN leader, stressing its strong belief that his labour-friendly ideologies and strong penchant for promoting workers’ welfare coasted him to a resounding victory in his recent election..
During the visit, the Delta State-born Labour leader and sailor thanked the management for the visit and enthused that the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria will continue to uphold the existing relationship developed by his predecessor, Comrade Adewale Adeyanju, the Ibadan Prince.
He, however, stressed the need for both parties to be on the same page, especially in the areas of protecting workers’ welfare, which is paramount to the Union, given Green View’s status in the country’s maritime industry.
Comrade Bunu also urged the visitors to continue with their “Workers’ Inclusiveness” policy and admonished them to keep an eye on the welfare of the workers at all times.
