Wabara Commends Ambode’s Administration

The President Of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Ayuba Wabba has commended the Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, noting that his administration has been both, actively pro-people policies, in addition to his observable determination to provide quality transportation platform in the State.

Ayuba made the observation when he led the officials of the NLC and Management of its Labour City Transport Service on a Courtesy call to the Commissioner for Transportation, Dr. Dayo Mobereola.

Highlighting that Governor Ambode’s success was anchored on dedicated commitment to improving the people’s lives, particularly in terms of providing an enablement for transportation, the Labour leader also recalled the years of engagement with the state, noting that the land allocated to the people for the purpose of a depot was however, already a subject of legal determination, hence it was stalled of its major value, to the transport company they were operating.

He stressed the need for timely interventions of the authorities, explaining that the operations of the Labour city transport service should be to provide subsidized transport for workers, even as he grieved that its ticketing arrangement for now, to say the least, still fraught with challenges.

He expressed Labour’s determination to improve the services by expanding the routes it operates as well as leveraging the support of its international partners to improve transportation especially in Lagos, while further urging the state government to avail itself of the window of opportunity for free coaches and wagons promised to Nigeria by the Chinese government.

In his response, the Honourable Commissioner averred that there are several areas of collaboration opened to the NLC which should be explored.

He promised to facilitate the quick resolution of issues raised adding that the state would continue to partner with Labour in the overall interest of Lagos State.
