…As Bulgaria shuts down 15 websites selling fake goods***

Virgin Voyages’ new 110,000 gross tons cruise ship, Scarlet Lady, has touched the water for the first time at Fincantieri’s Genoa Sestri Ponente shipyard.

Following the float out ceremony on February 8, Scarlet Lady is now scheduled to undergo interior fittings, according to the shipbuilder.

Featuring over 1,400 guest cabins, the cruise ship can host more than 2,700 passengers, accompanied by 1,150 crew members on board.

The cruise ship is the first of three units ordered under a EUR 2 billion construction deal signed between Virgin Voyages, a part of Virgin Group, and Fincantieri in December 2016. The company signed a EUR 700 million deal for the construction of the fourth unit in October 2018.

Set to sail from Virgin Voyages’ new terminal in PortMiami, Scarlet Lady would be delivered in 2020, while the remaining three units are scheduled to be handed over to their owner in 2021, 2022 and 2023, respectively.

In  the meantime, Bulgarian Authorities have shut down 15 websites selling fake goods with logos of world famous brands and arrested two suspects, the Ministry of Interior said in a statement on Monday.

During the operation, which was conducted on Feb. 7 in the city of Varna on the Black Sea coast, the authorities searched five addresses and seized computers as well as large amounts of money.

Over 9,500 men’s and women’s perfumes of 30 leading world brands, some 300 pairs of sneakers and over 600 pairs of sunglasses, the statement said.

One of the suspects was detained in an office of a courier company when he was trying to send 117 shipments purchased through these websites, it said.

The evidence gathered so far indicated that the 15 websites were aimed at customers in Bulgaria, Greece and Romania.

One of the websites had over 43,000 registered users and made up more than 25,000 perfume sales, the statement said.
