…As 131 refugees return***
There may be no fewer than 97,000 Nigerians presently taking refuge in Cameroon, out of which 8,000 came from Adamawa, while the rest fled from Borno, in the heat of Boko Haram insurgency.
The Minister of Humanitarian Services, Disaster Management and Internally Displaced Persons, Sa’adiya Faruk confirmed this on Thursday, while receiving 133 Nigerian refugees who returned home from Cameroon.
The refugees who arrived Yola Airport aboard a Nigerian Air Force plane at about 5 pm local time, were mostly women and children who had fled to Cameroon at the height of Boko Haram attacks in the Northeast.
