The Council of Maritime Truck Unions and Associations (COMTUA) has faulted the Oyo State Road Transport Management Authority (OYRTMA) on why the agency is requesting obstruction charges on a truck that was already evacuated to the garage.
The COMTUA President, Aroyewun stated this, alleging aspersions on his personal integrity; and threatening to sue the OYRTMA Chairman.
The said truck is owned by a member of the association, who further explained that the association with the aid of police and the Federal Road Safety Corps, had actually evacuated the truck, immediately the accident occurred, leaving only the container for lack of equipment to remove it.
He also wondered why OYRTMA does not have fixed charges for traffic offences but fixing charges off-hand and why payment should be made to a private company.

He stated that his association believes that the case of accident falls within the purview of the police and any recovery bill should have been sent to the police.
Aroyewun debunked the allegation by the chairman of the agency, Mr. Akin Fagbemi, that he collected N500,000 from his member, the owner of the container to secure its release.
He also described as false the allegation that he claimed to be an APC member to seek favour, saying that the blatant lie cannot fly since Oyo State is under PDP.
COMTUA National President threatened a suit for the libelous statements if not proven or retracted.
