The entire country, particularly the Presidency was Saturday morning rudely thrown into mourning as news of the passage of the nation’s former Chief of Staff to the President, Mallam Abba Kyari gained ground.
“The Presidency regrets to announce the passage of the Chief of Staff to the President, Mallam Abba Kyari”, Femi Adesina, Special Adviser to the President
(Media and Publicity) issued out early morning of April 18th, terminating the hopes of several friends of Kyari, who had embarked on fervent prayers, following the controversy of his encounter with Coronavirus attack.

Continued Adesina’s terse message: “The deceased had tested positive to the ravaging COVID-19, and had been receiving treatment. But he died on Friday, April 17, 2020.
“May God accept his soul.
“Funeral arrangements will be announced shortly”, the message concluded.
Already, the Nigerian Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA) has sent out condolences, as the management sympathizes with both the family and the entire nation.
