First Iraqi woman became a sailor

The Minister of Transport , Baqer al-Zubaidi approved to grant, Ameraa Jassim Sahan the identity of a sailor according to the Iraqi Navy Service Law No. 201 of 1975.

The spokesman of Iraqi ports , Anmar al-Safi responded in an interview for “Shafaq News”, that “Ameraa took part in maritime training course in the Gulf Academy of Maritime Studies.

She got (4) naval certificates qualifies her to work on board ships under the International Maritime Organization standards certificates (IMO) to give her the identity of a sailor from the same State and passport under the requirements of the Maritime Labour Convention (MLC).

Jassim got on the identity of the Jordanian sailor in addition to the Iraqi identity.
