…Ferry holed contacting pier, Japan***
Just like few weeks ago, a ship whose identity was firstly not known, but later was confirmed to be VINALINES MIGHTY reportedly was attacked at around 0130 UTC Dec 30 in Gulf of Guinea some 150 nm NW of Sao Tome, 200 nm SW of Bonny.
It was reported by Fleetmon that her track shows with high probability, that she avoided attack and escaped. Bulk carrier is en route from Douala Cameroon to Greenville Liberia.
One more bulk carrier could be in the same area, her last AIS as of 0600 UTC Dec 30, was some 14 hours late.
Dryad Global reported that the ship was boarded by 3 pirates, but “all crew are safe”.
Keeping our hands crossed, the details of the attack are still unknown. But everything point at crew being safe, and that’s what matters most.

In the meantime, there was a collision involving a ferry in the afternoon of Dec 29, at Takamatsu Port, Shikoku island, Japan, Inner Japan sea.
The accident was said to be caused by controls electric malfunction.
The ferry, KOKUSAI MARU 32 as reported by Fleetmon arrived from Shodoshima Port, with 45 passengers and 6 vehicles on board.
It suffered a big hole in fore starboard area, causing one passenger to be slightly injured.
