Ikorodu LG presents N1.95bn as budget for 2022

The Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government in Lagos State, Mr Wasiu Adesina, on Thursday, presented a budget proposal for N1. 95 billion for 2022 to the council’s legislature for approval.

Presenting the budget tagged, “Budget of New Beginning”, the chairman said the council hoped to receive N420. 15 million from federal allocation, N1.23 billion from VAT and N131 million from Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) and State Coordinated Revenue.

On expenditure, the chairman stated that personnel cost for staff was put at N384.6 million, teachers’ salary, N395. 13 million, while statutory deductions stand at N116. 26 million.

Overhead got N485 million; Social Services Projection N14 million, while Non-Current Asset is put at N554 million.

The council boss told the councilors that the 2022 budget proposal was geared towards achieving a distinct outline, better planning and execution of physical policies for Ikorodu Local Government.

He promised that the council’s reputation for peace and reception would be sustained through consistent and unflinching support with fervent prayers and a show of love.

Adesina commended the legislature, management team and staff of the council for their collaborative effort and promised to surpass his achievements for the year 2021.

“I am using this medium to appreciate our National leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu on whose ideology we stand.

“I will also appreciate Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu whose THEMES agenda has helped us to reshape Lagos State,” he said.

The Leader of the House, Mr Adebowale Ajayi, commended the chairman for the success recorded so far in the areas of infrastructure, education, health and security and urged him to do more.

Ajayi assured the chairman of the continued support of the legislative arm, adding that they would work in synergy to ensure that Ikorodu Local Government was taken to greater heights.

“As legislators, we promise to be consistent in having a robust relationship with you in ensuring that we achieve more development in Ikorodu Local Government.

“It is a privilege to work with you as we remain resolute and full of optimism based on your antecedent that the scorecard shall remain vindictive in all spheres.

“We promise to give the budget urgent attention to ensure it is approved to facilitate infrastructural projects as it is proposed in the budget,” Ajayi said.
