The Doyen of the Nigerian Maritime Industry, High Chief, Adebayo Babatunde Sarumi has lauded the
Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) Deputy President and President-General, Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN), Comrade Adewale Adeyanju for his sincere Commitment to the welfare of the Nigerian workers.
Comrade Adeyanju, an Ibadan Prince, was last week elected, as NLC Deputy President.

In a congratulatory message, Chief Sarumi, an Ibadan High Chief said he was particularly proud of Comrade Adeyanju’s total and enduring dedication to workers’ wellbeing, which had largely been responsible, for his enviable, trailblazing trajectory, in pursuit of his honest ideals.
Stated Chief Sarumi:
“Our President-General and my dear aburo, Wale Adeyanju, I just read from Maritime First Newspaper, the good news of your election as Deputy President of Nigeria and indeed, Africa’s foremost Labour Union, The Nigerian Labour Congress.
“This is arguably the first time a foremost sectoral labour leader of our powerful, inimitable and trailblazing Maritime Workers Union, will rise to sub pinnacle in National Labour Congress.

“Knowing your antecedents and watching you grow from a mustard seed to the giant oak in maritime labour leadership, I know your trajectory will naturally lead to this new laurel as a feather to your several beautiful caps of achievements.
“Congratulations and, may NLC and indeed the indefatigable Nigerian workers be richly blessed, as you join their national leadership”. the highly revered Industry Leader stated further.
Chief Adebayo Sarumi, a former Managing Director, Nigerian Ports Authority NPA, unarguably, masterminded the nation’s most successful Concession in Nigeria, the first major reform and concessioning of the Nigerian Ports Authority.
