Norwegian trawler on fire, 14 evacuated 6 remain on board, North sea

Fire erupted in engine room of Norwegian trawler LANGENES in the afternoon Sep 11, some 80 nm west of Rogaland, Stavanger area, Norway, North sea.

CO2 firefighting system was activated, fire said to be suppressed, though as of 1600 UTC situation wasn’t yet clear.

14 crew were airlifted to safety by helicopter, 6 remained on board and continued fighting fire. 1 or 2 ships are deployed in salvage.
