A Romanian pilot Tuesday morning, June 19 died on the bridge wing of Lebanese bulk carrier, HAMOUDI B, while commanding the ship into harbor.
“He just fell down and passed away” indicated the ship’s Master statement, mentioning injury, a remark which further made the cause of unclear.
Consequently, the actual cause of death could not be ascertained, especially as it was clear, whether the 60-year old pilot died, following injury sustained or probably if death was caused by trauma he sustained when hitting the deck.
Meanwhile, a General cargo ship HTK ENERGY reportedly ran aground on artificial reefs in Sarangani Bay, Mindanao island, Philippines, shortly sfter leaving General Santos Port, on Monday June 18.
Judging from available information, she was refloated same day or on Jun 19, and was taken to port.
There was no information on ships damages, but she damaged some 100-20 sq meters of reefs, hence, she’s to be in port until reefs damage assessment will be made.
